"I offer holistic aromatherapy treatments and bespoke natural plant-oil blends that will help nurture self-care, bringing a sense of uplifting lightness and wellbeing to my clients, and improving the appearance, health and comfort of their skin."Emily Muffett MIFA

My love for nature and the power of plants began as a child, growing up in Sussex. Our garden was filled with aromatic herbs such as lavender, rosemary, and thyme. Seasons were brought to life by flowering camellias, jasmine and scented roses. Though I didn't know it then, it inspired my passion for aromatherapy and influences what I grow in my small garden at home today in South-East London. For all AIRA Therapy bespoke oil blends, I only use vegan, ethically sourced, wild-grown or organic plant oils.

My experience working in the beauty industry for over twenty years with some of the world's largest skincare brands has given me an understanding of the importance of skin care and the value of using products and ingredients that are kind and good for your skin. Its where I discovered the science behind aromatherapy and its ability to help and provide holistic care for mind and body to complement your primary medical care and to support your wellbeing.

I founded AIRA Therapy to give a lightness of being through aromatherapy, bespoke oil blends and massage treatments.

AROMATHERAPY: Aromatherapy can be defined as the ancient art and science of blending naturally extracted essential oils from aromatic plants, to balance, harmonise and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. Essential oils can only be extracted from aromatic plants, including flowers, leaves, roots, resins, seeds and fruit, with each essential oil having its own unique healing properties. Aromatherapy is one of the most popular forms of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM ). It promotes health and aromatherapy massage may help alleviate a variety of minor medical conditions.

Aromatherapy aims to enhance well-being, relieve stress and help in the rejuvenation and regeneration of the human body. Essential oils have the unique ability of working not just on physical conditions when used with massage, but they can also have a positive effect on emotional wellbeing.  Aromatherapy can provide a relaxing and calming effect for those suffering with mental health problems, dementia and those receiving palliative care. As a result, it is also used in a variety of settings, including hospitals and hospices.
Today, aromatherapy is widely accepted by orthodox and complementary practitioners as one of the most comprehensive natural therapies. When considering essential oils for your treatments and bespoke oil blends, I will discuss with you your preferences, your needs and your medical and lifestyle history as part of the consultation.

BESPOKE OIL BLENDS: AIRA Therapy bespoke essential and plant oil blends, are created for you individually and tailored to your needs. We begin with an Aromatherapy Consultation, which takes around 30 minutes, and includes a medical and lifestyle history.

For subsequent treatments and bespoke oil blends, I will always start by asking you about any updates to your medical or lifestyle history and check with you what you are specifically looking to gain from your treatment. I will create a specific blend for you, and advise on how to use it, and any safety precautions.

For each bespoke oil blend, I choose plant oils and essential oils that work in synergy to provide therapeutic benefits for your needs. I follow the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA) safety guidelines relating to blending and the concentration of essential oils use.
